Ty loves to do puzzles.  He's gotten this ABC circus one pretty much down...

First Day of School

School started on August 15th this year (my b-day, which means that it started a week or two too soon).  Kate and Jack were up bright and early and ready to go by 7:15.

Kate is in 3rd grade in Mrs. Carr's class (and Kate LOVES pandas and her panda shirt).

 Jack is in 1st grade in Mrs. Shelton's class (and Jack loves his new basketball shorts).

Ty didn't have a very good first day of school.  He spent the morning at the doctor's office and pharmacy.  We found out that he had strep, so he spent a few days resting on the couch with a fever.

Jack and Kate have played a lot this summer in the playhouse in the backyard.  Jack got dressed up one day before they went out to play in the playhouse...

Don't worry...I think Jack ditched his dress-up clothes pretty fast after he got into the playhouse.  I'm pretty sure there are basketball shorts on underneath that skirt.

County Fair Parade

We went to the county fair parade.  I guess the kids were too focused on watching for candy that they forgot to smile for the picture.  They got quite the loot of candy.

Tile Demo

It's a harder job than it looks.  The tile is attached to plywood that is GLUED to the subfloor.

I had my 20 week ultrasound on August 9th.  The whole family came to see if it will be a baby brother or a baby sister.  Ty insisted that it was just be "baby."

And...it's going to be a baby brother!  Kate is okay with it.  It's a baby after all!  The baby is doing well and is due December 23rd.

Here's a picture that Kate took of me at 12 weeks on June 12th.  We emailed it to the grandparents to let them know about baby #4.  I wish I was still that small...

Summer Utah Trip Part Two...Cox's

On Friday, August 3rd, we went to the cabin and waited for everyone else to join us.

On Saturday after watching Lissa run by the cabin while running a half marathon, Dave, Ty and I went to Clear Creek to check out the damage from the fire this summer.  The creek was pretty messy and torn up.

 

Kate, Jack, and Dave and the rest of the gang went on a hike to Harry's Monument (across the road on the top of the mountain) while Ty and I took a nap.

Summer Utah Trip Part One...Judi's

We made a quick trip to UT in August.  We drove up, spent two days with the Judi's, two days with the Cox's and then drove home. 

Here's what we did with the Judi's.  On Wednesday, we spent the morning checking out the site of the Castle Valley Pageant.  The kids got to go inside the cabins and tents and check it all out.  Dave and I attempted to run to the pageant site, but it's all uphill and I started to feel super pregnant and old, so we ran three miles out of the 7 miles (or 8 or 9 or however long it actually was). 

Then we (our family and Grandma and Grandpa Judi) went to Provo and made a stop at BYU.  We went to the Athletic building and talked to some football players and other random athletes.  One of the football coaches say Jack in his BYU shirt and shook his hand and told him that he thinks he'll play for BYU someday.  Jack loved that!

Meagan and her kids met us at BYU and our kids had fun running around on the indoor practice field.  Too bad I didn't have my camera.

Then we met Mike and Maggie and their kids at Chuckarama for dinner.  The kids loved eating whatever they wanted and being with their cousins.

The next day (Thursday, August 2nd) we went fishing at Electric Lake.  Dave, Vaughn and Jack went early and took the boat out fishing.  Marianne, Kate, Ty and I came up later.  And Meagan and her kids met us there too.

Vaughn took me, Marianne, Meagan and the kids (except Jack) on a boat ride around the lake.  Ty didn't love it and fell asleep.  After a while we dropped Marianne and Meagan and her kids off and picked up Dave and Jack and did a little fishing.  Kate caught a fish, but it was a little small, so she decided to let it go. 

The next morning we got to eat the fish.
