Nick at 6 Weeks

Nick started smiling and sleeping for at least 5 hours at night.  He is a great, calm, quiet baby!

Nick's First Playdate

My friend, Juli, had her baby, James, 13 days after Nick was born.  He was five weeks early, so Nick looks huge compared to him.   I snapped this picture during their first playdate.  They spent it sleeping in their car seats in the corner for a half an hour. 

Snuggles

This is one of my favorite things about babies...snuggles!  Nick is quite the snuggler sometimes.  I love having him sleep on my chest.  So sweet!

Ty and Gareth

My sister, Lissa, came to visit me in New Mexico for the first time!  It was really fun to have her here for almost a week.  We didn't do anything super exciting since the kids were in school, but it was nice having her around to help with the kids and hold Nick and make yummy food with. 

She brought her little boy, Gareth, who is six weeks younger than Ty.  The boys had fun together for the most part.  I think Ty loved having someone to play with when the big kids were at school.

I didn't think to take a picture of them until we were headed out the door to take them to the airport (with their lunches packed). 

Jack in Frog and Toad

Jack had his first grade music performance about Frog and Toad.  It was combined with the 2nd graders too.  It was really cute.  Jack did a great job!

 

Jack and His Socks

This boy is really hard on socks!  I sewed up the holes in his Sunday socks, but then I gave up.  I bought him new ones and let him throw these away.

 

One Month Old Nick

Nick is already a month old!  Time has flown by.  He is growing up and changing so fast!

He weighs 9 lbs 1 oz.
This week he started sleeping for longer stretches some nights (11-5, 10-4, etc.). 
He reacts when we talk to him.  He looks at us and squirms around.

Brothers

While I was cleaning up the lunch dishes today Jack said, "Mom, come look at me hold Nick.  You should take a picture of us."  So I did...

 Then we had Ty jump into the picture.  Too bad I didn't notice the jam on his face.  (The boys LOVE raspberry jam on their peanut butter sandwiches -- their favorite lunch.)

 Nick gets lots of kisses, even when he's asleep tucked into his car seat at church.

Kids

This is typical of what the kids do lately...Kate loves to hold Nick.  And jack likes to play checkers on the nexus.

The other morning Ty asked me to take a picture of him and Nick.  So I did...

 Nick was 3 weeks and one day old...

Team Judi

Jack has been playing a lot of basketball on his hoop in the living room the last little while.  Actually, I don't think he can walk into the kitchen or the living room without shooting a hoop.  Kate and Jack got their jerseys for their basketball teams this week and played a game.  Ty got in on the action too.

Christmas Break

The kids had two weeks off from school for Christmas break.  Dave took the two weeks off too, so we had a lot of family time.  It was really nice and relaxing.  We stayed up late almost every night and slept in until at least 8:30 every morning. 

We enjoyed having Grandma and Grandpa Judi stay with us for a week after Nick was born.  Grandpa and Dave finished cutting and laying all the tile in our entryway and kitchen. 

Dave spent lots of hours grouting the tile too.  To give the kids a little Christmas vacation, we went to Albuquerque and spent the night in the Embassy Suites (on January 3rd/4th).  The kids went swimming twice and we got to go out to eat and do some shopping.  It was a nice break. 

January 7th the kids didn't have school, but Kate woke up with the stomach flu.  Dave worked from home and I took the boys swimming at the fun swimming pool in Santa Fe. 

During the break we also went the church and let the kids play basketball with their new basketball shoes.  We also had some extra gym time at the YMCA with their basketball teams. 

Nick went to the doctor when he was 8 days old for a checkup.  He weighed 7 lbs 7 oz and looked great.  He had a touch of jaundice, but otherwise was perfectly healthy.
