Ty is 3!

Ty had a really fun third birthday. He had been waiting for his birthday since Jack has his birthday in May.
Ty got to open his presents first thing in the morning.  Jack couldn't wait!
The kids helped Dave and I pick out some Geotrax presents for Ty.
Ty had been asking for a remote control train for his birthday.  A remote control Francesco was a good substitute!

Grandma Cox made Ty a quilt that matches Jack's!

Kate gave Ty a few of her favorite little animals and Grandma and Grandpa Judi sent Ty a card and some $!
Love that remote control!
We got to work and made our biggest geotrax track yet!

Ty and his blankets on his big boy bed.
Matching quilts made by Grandma Cox.  The boys love the underside of the quilt as well as the top.  We switch which side is facing up each week.
After a yummy breakfast of blueberry muffings (made by Kate), we headed to the park to play a little mini golf.

Some of our friends came to play with us too (the Miller's and the Vest's).  Ty shared fruit snacks with them.
Ty wanted a train cake...

The kids loved eating the different parts of the train.
A bit blurry, but they're happy...

Grandpa and the Train

We loved having Grandpa and Grandma Judi stay with us the week of Kate's baptism.  Unfortunately, I didn't take hardly any pictures.
Vaughn and Dave worked on repairing a part of our hardwood floor.  Marianne did lots of weeding in the grass.  The kids loved having them walk to the bus stop with them.  We also ate lunch at the school with the kids one day.  Grandpa played lots of basketball with Jack.  Grandma and Kate did lots together too.

One day when Kate and Jack were at school, Ty and Grandpa got out the electric train.  They set it up and played with it.  Then not too longer after, Ty wanted to put it away.  So, they did.

Electric Train Videos

Jack and Ty could watch videos of trains on youtube for hours.  They especially love to watch videos of other people's electric trains.  Jack wanted to make his own train videos.

So, here are a few videos of Jack's Lionel Pennsylvania train.

Christmas 2011

Santa found us in Castle Dale at Grandma and Grandpa Judi's house.
He brought Jack a basketball hoop and a mini basketball and a normal size basketball.

He brought Kate the Samantha American Girl book set with a mini doll and some doll clothes for her big doll.
He brought Ty a big dump truck, but Ty was convinced that Jack's little ball was for him.
He's still not convinced that the ball is Jack's.
Kate gave Ty his own hoop and ball (glow in the dark).
Ty also got a Red the fire truck, a shirt, some geotrax cars, and books.

Kate got this hat, sweater, and necklace, lots of books, doll clothes (I made some amazingly enough!), and art supplies.

Ty gave Jack this watch.  We all knew what time it was when Jack was around!  He's been asking for a watch for a long time!  Jack got this shirt (Ty has a matching one), art stuff, some books and a little transformer.

Dave and I ordered this train switch, two bumpers, and a few small tracks as Jack's Christmas gift from us, but it wasn't delivered until New Years.  We'd taken his train track in the van (under cover) to surprise him.  It was just a little late.

Vaughn cleared out a spot in the basement and set up Jack's basketball hoop.  Jack played for hours after church on Christmas with whoever would play with him.  He asked me lots of time to "come watch on him" while he played.
Most of the action shots I took of Jack were blurry.  I tried every setting that I could think of on my camera, but they're all blurry.  Maybe I need an "action" lense.

Jack learned how to do layups and how to dunk it!
Ty got to play with Jack too.  He made quite a few baskets!

Grandpa played with Jack for a long time.  They had quite the game going.

Dave bought me a couch and loveseat for Christmas. (this picture is obviously not my house)

Geotrax Birthday

My mom and dad gave Ty the greatest birthday present.  I told them that Ty loves Geotrax stuff and it's fun to get more things to add to the Geotrax that the kids already have.  There was a great sale on Toysrus.com (buy one get one free), so they bought Ty two super fun Geotrax things.

I probably should have saved one for Christmas, but my kids were in heaven with enough new toys for everyone to play together.  Ty was asleep when the UPS man brought the present.  Jack was dying to wake him up so they could get started playing.  The second Ty woke up, he got to open the box.

Still a little sleepy, but SO excited!
Showing me the cool fire engine.
I made this nice train track for the kids to play with, but Ty wasn't sharing too well and kept breaking it when he was mad.

I may never be able to vacuum my living room rug again.  It's the new train "town".

Thanks Mom & Dad for a "Christmas in July".  My kids will be entertained for hours!

Train Love

Ty LOVES Jack's electric train.  He gets SO excited when we set it up.  He gets to control it himself (when Jack will let him.)
Jack said, "Mom, take a picture of me looking at my train."
And, if you take a picture of one kid you can't leave any out (or leave any dolls out).
Then Jack took this lovely picture of us.
