Summer Day...

Tuesday was a busy day.  The kids had swimming lessons at 9:30.  We stayed and played in the pool for a little while longer.  Then headed home.  We got to work making this parking garage made out of a cereal box and toilet paper tubes (saw it on pinterest).
Then the kids had to play with it!
Then we headed to the library for a Star Wars party!  The kids are now officially Jedi Knights!

Ty missed his nap.  At 5:00 after helping himself to an apple, he snuggled up in the couch.

 And went to sleep!

Freezer Paper Shirts

The other day the kids and I did some freezer paper embellishing on some of their t-shirts.

They added a number onto the back of their soccer camp shirts.  We did this last year with their age as the number.  This year Kate decided that she didn't want to use 7 (her age), because she likes 8 better.

Can you see the numbers, Mom?

I made this Superman shirt for Ty.  Then we had to watch Superman that night.
This is Ty's "I don't want you to take a picture of me, Mom" face.

Dinosaur Feet

I've been doing a little preschool on Mondays with Jack and three of his boy friends.  Every week we have a theme that boys love (like trains) or if it's a holiday we do boy-approved crafts and worksheets.  This week we learned about dinosaurs.

They made these great dinosaur feet...
After school Kate came home and made herself some purple and yellow polka dotted dinosaur feet.  Super cute!

Craft Time

Okay, so I have some catching up to do posting pictures. Not really sure how to organize it, so I guess I'll work backwards from when Ty was born.

The kids, Marianne and I did a craft from the Family Fun magazine one afternoon in the backyard. It involved shaving cream, food coloring and paper.

First we spread shaving cream on a cookie sheet. The kids loved "smoothing" it.
Then we sprinkled food coloring on it and swirled it around with toothpicks and popsicle sticks.
Then Jack started swirling it with his hands.
Kate was a much cleaner swirler.
After the kids finished swirling then they laid paper on top of their design and it transferred onto their paper. I was going to take pictures of the finished product, but didn't. They kids had fun, but we had to throw the papers away because the food coloring got everywhere.
