General Women's Broadcast 2014

The satellite in our ward building was having issues, so they cancelled the dinner for the women and girls in our ward and the Los Alamos ward along with the broadcast.  Kate was bummed that it was cancelled, so we planned our own dinner.

We invited 15 other ladies and girls over for tacos, dessert and broadcast watching:  Juli, Anna, and Sophi Miller, Elise, Annika, and Ashley Nye, Sylvie & Nina Johnson, Elizabeth Allen, Ada Tripp, Kristi and Eliza Lamborn, Emmy Baker, and Angela and Kyra Vest.

Dave took Jack and Nick on a bike ride to Sonic for dinner and ice cream while everyone was over.

Kate and I took a picture together after everyone left.  It's pretty special to be able to watch the General Women's meeting together with my daughter.  It was neat to watch it with our friends in our home and sing I am a Child of God together during the congregational hymn.

Saturday around Los Alamos

While Dave, Kate and Jack were hiking Wheeler Peak, Ty, Nick and I had the day to hang out together.  After cleaning the house and doing laundry, we headed downtown.

First stop was McDonald's for lunch.

We were planning on going to the pond to feed the ducks after lunch.  Sciencefest was going on, so after feeding the Ducks we looked around.  Ty liked watching the Legos Mindstorms and the big robots.

We snapped a picture on this chalk art.
Then we went to the church and practiced the organ, went to Smith's,  then mowed the lawn.

Tonight Bob Judd called and told us to look outside.  We saw a bright light in the west.  Through the binoculars it looked like a weather balloon.

Labor Day at Abiquiu Lake

We spent Labor Day afternoon at Abiquiu Lake with some friends.  It was beautiful weather and the kids had tons of fun!

Digging huge holes.

Kate and her friends, Sophi and Annika, were busy kayaking, swimming, floating and jumping off of rocks.
The Nye's brought lots of kayaks of all sizes for everyone to use.  Even Nick got a turn rowing one.
Brian Anderson took Nick on a kayak ride.  He loved it.
